2007 Fete des Feet

Carrying on a club tradition, Columbines celebrated their accomplishments at the annual Fete des Feet at REI on November 10, 2007. A great time was had as we recognized achievements, fun run hostesses, and points earners, and as always, shared stories during an excellent brunch.

We were fortunate to have Meloday fairchild as our speaker. She shared stories of her running beginnings in a canyon outside Boulder. She began by running to a certain rock and back until gradually she was running throughout the entire canyon. With training she became quite a star in Boulder, becoming quite a hihg school champion and winning the Bolder Boulder on two different occasions while still in High School. Melody has enjoyed many successes but she also faced obstacles during her time in hihg school, college and in the years to follow.

We found her talk interesting and quite motivating. She is now extremely involved in hosting her running camps for girls.
